Are you a dynamic, passionate security specialist looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Lead Security Architect to support the national delivery of the Future NHS Workforce Solution (FWS).
The future solution will build upon the success of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), which is the national HR and payroll system for the NHS. The FWS will be rolled out nationally to over 1.9 million NHS colleagues across England and Wales.

You will take on responsibility for the security solutions and security architecture for applications, information, and infrastructure. Providing guidance and consultancy input into new and existing IT solutions, fully exploiting the opportunities of emerging technologies.

- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across all departments and communities, building effective relationships to enable secure digital services while protecting data and assets.
- Handle high-profile, complex issues to protect organizational reputation, providing contextually appropriate responses.
- Support the creation and execution of technology and service roadmaps, migrating towards cloud solutions and decommissioning legacy systems.
- Define security requirements for procurement and third-party providers, delivering effective IT services in collaboration with them.
- Design cost-effective, scalable enterprise solutions, from development to implementation in a multi-supplier environment.

In this role, you are accountable for: Security Architecture/Operations- Define and develop security architectures, providing technical solutions and blueprints, and preparing proposals for business cases.
- Lead investigations within multidisciplinary teams, making credible technical decisions and communicating effectively.
- Translate security requirements into IT services, solutions, and roadmaps, sharing best practices and standards.
- Monitor emerging tools and technologies to enhance security capabilities.
- Develop security blueprints for complex security management of physical and data assets.
- Manage staff, including performance management, recruitment, and development initiatives.
- Encourage team development and accountability, providing feedback and supporting independent problem-solving.
- Contribute to budget processes, proposals for investments, and resource planning.
- Research industry trends, threats, and innovations to inform security strategies and maintain documentation.
- Build partnerships within and outside the organization, engaging with external agencies to clarify needs and devise solutions.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and standards, monitor service levels, and report issues.
- Act as SME on security architecture, guiding technical direction, managing initiatives, and supporting workforce planning.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and practices, and produce detailed reports for stakeholders.
