Lead Principal Engineer - Semiconductor Device Research & Development (f/m/div)

Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Develop and evaluate new technology and device concepts for IC and smart power IC technologies, including innovative device architectures, materials, and process flows
- Perform TCAD simulations using tools such as Synopsys and Silvaco to analyze and optimize semiconductor device performance
- Apply knowledge of semiconductor device physics to design and simulate CMOS technologies and semiconductor power technologies
- Develop a deep understanding of application requirements for AC-DC and DC-DC conversion, including power electronics and magnetics
- Conduct FEM (Finite Element Method) simulations to analyze thermal, mechanical, and electromagnetic behavior of semiconductor devices and systems
- Perform system-level simulations, including magnetics and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) analysis, to ensure overall system performance and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into the design and development of semiconductor devices and systems
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in semiconductor device simulation and design, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve simulation methodologies and tools.
- Contribute to the development team and operate the interfaces within the team to EDA, REL, Test, and Process Integration
- Participate in the creation of test chips and setting up complex split experiments
- Perform TCAD simulations to support research and development of our next-generation technologies
- Define future products in cooperation with our business lines
- Actively drive innovation and provide technical advice for management decisions
Your Profile
As a Lead Principal Engineer Concept Development HV Devices, you take new challenges without knowing the right path to an eventual solution in advance is not a problem for you. Furthermore, you respect different attitudes and points of view and use the creative potential they offer. Lastly, you inspire others with your ideas and are able to explain complex issues in a clear and convincing manner.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Microelectronics or comparable; a PhD would be a plus
- At least 10 years of working experience in semiconductor device design
- Strong background in semiconductor device physics and CMOS technologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of Semiconductor Process & Device Physics with special emphasis on power devices
- Proficiency with TCAD tools (Synopsis or similar) for process and device simulation
- Experience with FEM simulation tools and system-level simulation software
- Knowledge of power electronics and magnetics, including AC-DC and DC-DC conversion
- Fluent English language skills, good German skills are additionally desirable
