Job Description
In your new role you will:
  • Own and drive power control innovation at the system level, ensuring Infineon's leadership in advanced power conversion technologies for applications such as Power Supplies, AC/DC, and DC/DC systems in various power ranges
  • Develop and implement advanced power control algorithms for high-performance power conversion systems, considering dynamic performance, stability, and energy efficiency
  • Prepare and manage development plans for Electronics and Software prototyping, including defining requirements, creating technical specifications, overseeing and executing evaluation, design, implementation, and testing processes
  • Model, simulate, and design hardware oriented control algorithms for power conversion applications in order to create robust systems
  • Employ Model-Based Development (MBD) techniques for power control applications using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Lead validation and verification efforts using methods like Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), Processor-in-the-Loop (PiL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), and Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) to ensure performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineering teams to integrate control algorithms into embedded systems, ensuring seamless interaction between software and hardware layers
  • Design and develop firmware for embedded systems using C/C++ for microcontroller platforms
  • Debug firmware and analyze control algorithms in the real hardware environment using Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Vector Network Analyzer, ensuring robust system design and diagnostics
  • Lead the technical development of next-generation power conversion solutions, including exploring emerging topologies, advanced modulation strategies, and digital/analog control techniques
  • Act as a technical leader and mentor, guiding junior engineers and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation within the team


Your Profile
This position is part of Infineon's Technical Ladder Career Path, offering recognition for experts who demonstrate technical leadership, innovative thinking, and the ability to create business value through advanced engineering solutions.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field
  • At least 8+ years of professional experience in power electronics, power systems, or a similar domain, with strong expertise in system-level control design and power conversion
  • Deep expertise in power control algorithms for power conversion systems of different power ranges
  • Profound knowledge of power supply topologies such as Totem Pole PFC, Resonant LLC converters, or other advanced architectures
  • Strong understanding of dynamic system modeling, control loop design, and stability analysis, with practical experience in tools like MATLAB/Simulink, SIMetrix
  • Hands-on experience with Model-Based Development (MBD) workflows for power control applications, including proficiency with tools like Dewetron, oscilloscopes, current clamps, logic analyzers, vector network analyzers and DAQ systems
  • Solid experience in HW and SW development for embedded systems, including programming in C/C++ for microcontrollers such as STM32, NXP S32K, TI TM4Cxx, and Arduino/AVR platforms
  • Familiarity with validation and verification techniques such as SiL, PiL, HiL, and MiL for robust system design and implementation
  • Strong experience in power conversion applications, including AC/DC and DC/DC systems, with a focus on control loop implementation and integration
  • A proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams
