Job Description
Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8A Lead Nurse within Older People and Stroke Services based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The Lead Nurse will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to nursing staff within Older People and Stroke Services. The Lead Nurse will be a credible leader and have a consistent approach to supporting the clinical and managerial teams in the delivery and achievement of high quality, compassionate and person centred care.

The Lead Nurse will work collaboratively to provide clinical and professional nursing leadership and management, ensuring professional support for the delivery of clinical services by establishing and maintaining robust systems, policies, procedures, governance frameworks, health & safety standards, professional guidance, training and education strategies.

The Lead Nurse must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, ensuring robust governance processes in place to support the delivery and assurance of excellent person centred care. Applicants will be a registered nurse, educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant experience in a leadership role and have the ability to work autonomously.
