Job Title: Lead Group Accountant - Temporary- 9-Month Maternity Cover

PurposeResponsible for the preparation of monthly group reporting for submission to the ultimate parent company and ownership of the fixed asset function.
ImpactProducing high quality financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
AccountabilitiesGroup Reporting
- Responsible for the initial preparation of the monthly group consolidation of 63 group entities and supporting files under IFRS
- Preparation of monthly exchange summary
- Preparation of assigned schedules in monthly and year-end group reporting pack
- Key contact for the auditors concerning queries relating to the group reporting pack and consolidation
- Provide support for the year-end audit process to meet timelines of HKX listed parent company
Fixed assets
- Line manager to Fixed Asset and Inventory Accountant
- Preparation of fixed asset related disclosures at interim and year-end, for both parent company reporting and all statutory financial statements within the Clarks Group
- Review of fixed asset ownership report
- Preparation of monthly intangibles adjustment for group reporting
- Regular review of the group fixed asset register for discrepancies and disposals
Other
- Work with the Finance Systems Controller to help drive improved systems processes, month end reconciliations and reporting.
- Ad-hoc project work as directed by the Senior Manager Global Finance Reporting or Group Director of External Reporting and Accounting
- Support for testing of changes in SAP for areas of responsibility
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience preparing group consolidations
- Knowledge of accounting systems with ability to use SAP
- Highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail
- A well organised and structured method of working, with the ability to prioritise tasks and projects
- Experience working to tight deadlines
