Lead Engineer

Daphne's mission is to create a data standard for private markets fundraising, making it easier for a wider group of investors to get access to private companies in their investment portfolios.

Daphne's helps scale the distribution of alternative asset products (e.g., Private Equity/Credit, Real Estate) by streamlining product information transmission from Asset Managers (e.g., Apollo) to their Channel Partners (e.g., Banks, Financial Advisors, Investment Consultants).

Daphne is headquartered in London and New York. This role is based on site in Daphne's London office near Old Street.

About the role

• Daphne has spent the last two years building its platform and data model and getting significant market adoption and traction. We are now looking for a Lead Engineer to take the Daphne platform to its next stage of growth. In this role you will get ownership of your domain of work and the opportunity to drive and define the product build in partnership with the Product and Engineering Leadership.

What you'll do

• Partner with product and business stakeholders to prioritize engineering backlog, translate requirements into technical solutions, and communicate implementation trade-offs .
• Design and optimize data-intensive PostgreSQL schemas, complex queries, and backend APIs handling high-volume transactions with focus on performance and scalability.
• Establish engineering best practices including code reviews, testing standards, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring strategies for production NestJS/React applications.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience in SAAS and API development including deep expertise in Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL optimization, and React applications.
• A pragmatic mindset: you know when to ship and when to refactor.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in startup environments or cross-functional teams.
• Experience in private markets, wealth management, fintech is a plus.
