Lead Engineer - Passive Fire Protection

We're currently looking for a Lead Passive Fire Engineer to join our team, make a meaningful impact, and help drive our vision to lead in customer excellence-delivering the right solutions with safety at the forefront of everything we do.
As a Lead Engineer specialising in Passive Fire Protection, you'll work on the most complex customer requirements, placing you at the heart of Fire Safety strategy. Your expertise will be key in analysing challenges, developing solutions, and ensuring they align with both customer needs and regulatory standards.
You'll draw on your experience in the Fire Protection industry to challenge norms, solve problems, and present tailored solutions. To stay at the cutting edge, you'll continue your CPD through our Engineering Academy, attend upskilling sessions, immerse yourself in our innovative products, and act as an ambassador for both your field and Hilti.
What does the role involve?As a Lead Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. You'll apply your expertise to propose bespoke Passive Fire Protection solutions and develop engineering judgments that ensure the safety and viability of our offerings-always aligned with fire safety standards and tailored to the specific build type.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and responding to customer requirements and queries - interpreting specifications and analysing technical construction documents, including plans and designs, to understand the customer's Passive Fire Protection needs.
- Creating and certifying engineering judgments - assessing, analysing, and reporting to ensure our products meet both the customer's needs and project safety standards.
- Staying ahead of industry standards - proactively keeping up with changes in Passive Fire Protection regulations, maintaining sharp and up-to-date skills. You'll also take every opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Hilti's latest fire protection products, ensuring all quality and safety standards are consistently met.
Essential;
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Fire Engineering, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in Passive Fire Protection, including conducting assessments or engineering judgments on safety, suitability, and compliance with standards. Strong technical writing skills to clearly present your findings.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical and theoretical datasets, interpreting the information to develop practical solutions to engineering challenges.
- Capability to use data-driven insights to propose creative and innovative solutions that meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and Hilti's standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders-including non-technical audiences-and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
