Lead EC&I Engineer

Lead EC&I Engineer - Nuclear Sector
An internationally recognised engineering and services provider is seeking a highly experienced Lead EC&I Engineer to deliver technically complex solutions across major projects in the nuclear industry. This strategic role is integral to the advancement of safety-critical infrastructure and clean energy transition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the EC&I design, specification, and implementation across multidisciplinary nuclear-related projects
  • Provide expert guidance on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control strategies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with UK nuclear regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
  • Oversee development of technical documentation, design reviews, and interface coordination
  • Engage with project stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and supply chain partners to align project objectives
  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and technicians
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Chartered Engineer status, or working towards a chartership via a recognised institution
  • Strong track record within the nuclear sector or similar safety-critical environments (e.g. defence, energy, infrastructure)
  • Proven ability to lead EC&I engineering teams and deliver high-integrity systems in regulated environments
  • Extensive knowledge of control philosophies, IEC standards, SIL assessments, and electrical design codes
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination
