Lead Data Analyst

CubeMatch is seeking an experienced Lead Data Analyst to drive the design, development, and optimisation of enterprise analytics and business intelligence solutions. This role will lead the delivery of scalable dashboards, performance scorecards, data models, reports, and visualisations that transform complex datasets into actionable business insights. The successful candidate will oversee the full BI lifecycle, establish governance and visualisation standards, and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and version control across enterprise reporting environments. Working closely with business analysts, data teams, and end users, they will provide strategic guidance on data visualisation best practices, support the optimisation of BI tools and processes for efficiency and scalability, and contribute to the organisation's analytics roadmap by identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and performance improvement. In addition, the role will champion user adoption through training, documentation, self service enablement, and mentoring, while staying at the forefront of emerging BI technologies and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of analytics insights and BI solutions, including visualisations, data models, reports, and dashboards for proof of value and industrialisation to represent complex data sets.
  • Guide the delivery of Enterprise BI Dashboards, performance scorecards, metric standardisation, version control and standardisation.
  • Lead the end to end Analytics BI lifecycle and implement appropriate delivery methodologies and controls.
  • Drive collaboration with business analysts and end user groups in business units to understand their data visualisation needs and objectives, offering best practice application advice and alternative recommendations for the best outcome.
  • Collaborate with other data teams within the CDAO to ensure data accuracy and integrity in visualisations, showing leadership in these interactions to ensure the best outcome.
  • Guide the team on the formulation and implementation of BI governance, visualisation standards and best practices within the organisation.
  • Support the optimisation of BI tools and processes for efficiency and scalability, ensuring that the data analytics team members adhere to these processes.
  • Contribute strategic insight and technical expertise to the development of the analytics roadmap, identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and enhanced performance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in design and delivery forums, collaborating with business analysts and end users to understand data needs and recommend best practice solutions.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members on how to interpret and utilise visualisations effectively, both during hyper care and handover of specific projects.
  • Manage user enablement and adoption through self service, training, support, documentation, and community engagement (e.g. Analytics Community of Practice).
  • Stay abreast of the latest BI technologies and trends, recommending improvements to existing solutions.
Qualifications / Essential Skills & Attributes
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Lead Data Analyst / BI Developer or in a similar role.
  • Wide ranging experience with data visualisation, reporting, business intelligence, UI/UX design, KPI metric definition, UAT, and data manipulation.
  • Solid experience of BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Quick Sight, SAS Viya).
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of SQL.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data in an intuitive format to leaders within an organisation.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Skills in Advanced Analytics.
  • Awareness of databases for data sourcing (e.g., SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle).
