Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Practitioner Psychologist within the Rehabilitation Division. We seek a candidate with a background in adult mental health and inpatient services, demonstrating leadership and supervision experience. The successful candidate will serve as the Lead Psychologist across our High Dependency Units, Open Rehabilitation Units, and Community Rehabilitation Team, supported by a team of Qualified and Assistant Psychologists. Responsibilities include leadership, supervision, and development of the Psychology team and pathways.

The role also involves being a key member of the Division's Senior Leadership Team, supporting leadership and development across the Division. Clinical work at Braeburn House involves working with individuals with severe and complex mental health issues, utilizing individualized and creative therapeutic approaches. Braeburn House is a 28-bed all-male High Dependency Unit, where you will work alongside another Qualified Psychologist, a full-time Assistant Psychologist, and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Practitioner Psychologist to enhance their skills in clinical practice, leadership, and service development within a supportive environment.

Job responsibilities

The role involves leadership and clinical responsibilities, including supporting staff with trauma-informed care principles, formulation-driven approaches, training, reflective practice, and incident learning. You will also contribute to the development of referral and assessment processes within the Division. Additionally, the role supports the development of our Community Rehabilitation Team and pathways, promoting timely discharge and reducing reliance on inpatient units.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Practitioner Psychologist to develop clinical, leadership, and service development skills in a supportive team environment.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Band: Details in attached documentation

Shift patterns include Saturday (midnight to midnight), weekdays after 8pm and before 6am, and all hours on Sundays and Public Holidays.
