Are you a commercially sharp procurement professional with experience across indirect categories and a passion for operational improvement through Capital Expenditure and MRO?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large UK headquartered international manufacturer as they enter a significant period of investment, automation, and growth. With backing from new owners, this steadfast business is rapidly scaling from growing several hundred million in turnover over the last few years with procurement playing a key role in delivering this transformation.

They're looking to hire a Lead Buyer to manage multi-million-pound investments across capital equipment, engineering services, and facilities. You'll play a key role in the sourcing and delivery of high-impact capital projects, while also supporting indirect engineering spend across the wider business sites.

You'll be joining a collaborative, close-knit procurement team under the guidance of a seasoned leadership team. You'll gain exposure to high-impact, multi-site projects and play a meaningful role in shaping capital investment decisions. As the business continues to grow through strategic acquisitions and technology-driven innovation, you'll benefit from opportunities to progress and gain more exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for capital and engineering projects, from supplier qualification to contract award and post-award performance tracking.
• Support group-wide capital investment plans across packaging machinery, production lines, automation systems, and site infrastructure etc
• Work with OEMs, manufacturers, and service partners to ensure value, reliability, and innovation in all sourcing activity.
• Lead commercial negotiations, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with site engineering, technical and operational teams to understand upcoming needs and align procurement accordingly.

Desired Experience:

• 3+ years' procurement experience in Indirect procurement experience. Preference for capex, MRO, engineering services or other related category areas.
• Ability to manage stakeholders across engineering, technical, and operational functions.
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence working on high-value contracts with complex terms.
• Understanding of capital expenditure & MRO categories such as packaging equipment, palletisers, conveyors, weighing systems or site services for example.
• A flexible, down-to-earth approach and the confidence to thrive in a growing and fast-evolving business environment.
