An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laying Farm Manager to join an established poultry business in Lincolnshire and take the lead on a brand new laying enterprise.The business has a strong and established background in broiler production and is now expanding into laying production. The initial enterprise will be around 60,000 birds, with plans already in place to significantly grow the operation, including planning applications for additional poultry sheds.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall management of the laying unit and day to day poultry operations
• Managing flock health, welfare and performance
• Monitoring production, feed, water, egg quality and flock performance
• Maintaining excellent biosecurity standards
• Working closely with vets, nutritionists and other industry professionals
• Managing and developing farm staff
• Maintaining accurate farm records and ensuring compliance requirements are met
• Monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
• Supporting the ongoing development and expansion of the laying enterprise
• Helping introduce effective systems and processes as the business grows
• Working alongside the wider poultry team to ensure high standards across the operation
• Maintaining excellent standards of health, safety and animal welfare

The Candidate

• Commercial poultry experience, ideally with previous laying production experience
• Confident and capable farm management skills, with the ability to take ownership of a large scale flock
• Strong understanding of flock health, welfare, biosecurity and production
• Experience managing and motivating staff would be advantageous
• Ambitious, practical and hands-on approach to farm management
• Keen to contribute to a growing business and help shape a new laying enterprise from the outset

• Salary £40,000 - £50,000 salary DOE

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
