Location: 1577 Wilton Grove Road, London, ON
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Lairage and Yard Coordinator will be responsible for supporting inbound live haul shipments and yard activities at the London Poultry facility. The role requires strong communication and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities- Manage arrivals of inbound live loads; oversee lairage segregation (RWA, Organic, Conventional)
- Complete lairage monitoring forms at required intervals
- Serve as the key on site point of contact with the live procurement team
- Coordinate decisions on slaughter changes with Live Receiving Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor, and live procurement team
- Ensure accurate data entry into the Live Bird Handling (LBH) system and correct errors promptly
- Maintain the operational and calibrated state of the scale, collect and enter scale tickets
- Oversee snow removal and keep the scale clear of dirt and debris
- Coordinate the movement of birds from the holding barn as needed
- Ensure fans are operational in the holding barn; coordinate adjustments in winter; maintain door functionality as needed
- Perform snow removal, salt, and sand activities at all main door entrances and safety exits
- Execute lawn and yard work as required, which may include lawn cutting, weed removal, parking lot sweep, garbage pickup, and other tasks assigned by management
- Complete any other work assigned by management
- $27 - $28 per hour (based on progression)
- 2+ years of industry experience with lairage control and live bird care
- High School Diploma or better
- Current valid driver's license; an AZ or DZ license or related experience is an asset
- Potential to complete a shunt truck driving training course as a backup for shunting duties
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
- Self starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision and strong organization skills
- A strong communicator, both written and oral, who is confident and decisive
