Laboratory Technician

Our client has an exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic Laboratory Technicians to support their daily laboratory operations! Role Purpose:
As a Laboratory Technician, your main responsibility will be to provide essential support services that keep our lab functioning at its best. You will ensure clean and sterilised glassware is always available, maintain stock levels of essential laboratory consumables, and manage the efficient receipt and distribution of deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash, Clean, and Prepare: Ensure laboratory glassware meets required standards for cleanliness.
- Operate Autoclaves: Safely sterilise glassware and laboratory utensils.
- Organise Storage: Maintain a well-organised system for storing clean glassware, ensuring easy access for lab staff.
- Monitor Inventory: Conduct regular stock checks and identify when replenishment is needed.
- Manage Deliveries: Receive, log, and process incoming laboratory parcels, distributing items to appropriate areas.
- Safety First: Handle temperature-sensitive or hazardous materials according to strict safety protocols.
What We're Looking For:
Technical Skills:
- - Ability to safely operate autoclaves and laboratory washing equipment.
- - Understanding of sterilisation procedures.
- - Proficient in computer systems, including MS Office.
Personal Capabilities:
- Meticulous in following defined methods and carrying out routine tasks.
- Excellent time management to meet customer needs.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and customers.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
Education & Experience:
- Educated to at least A-level standard or equivalent in Biology or Chemistry.
- A solid understanding of laboratory operations and safety practices is essential.
- Previous experience with autoclaves or sterilisation equipment is a plus, but training will be provided!
- Stock management or inventory control experience is also desirable, but they will provide training.
