Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a lab technician to join a small, welcoming team in a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. Hours are negotiable; Full time and part time hours will be considered.
Laboratory experience is not preferred but lesser-experienced candidates will be considered as full training can be given. The successful candidate should demonstrate a keen interest in the laboratory and scientific sector. They will be professional, mature and have the ability to work independently and under their own initiative.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Supporting our healthcare customers by providing timely analytical results
To accurately carry out all tests within a busy water testing laboratory, basic filtration, pipetting skills, media preparation and operation of equipment such as autoclaves and spectrophotometers.
To be able to carry out basic titrimetric methods.
To be able to work unsupervised but within an agreed work schedule
To prioritise the given workload, and to ensure lab KPIs are met
Experience and Skills
A keen interest in working in the scientific field and learning about the healthcare sector.
Ability to work under pressure, assess workload to ensure all the testing is carried in a timely manner.
Computer literate, proficient in MS Excel
Organisational skills
