Brief Description

DN5 0RR Skills4Science is looking for a Chemical Laboratory Technician Apprentice to support our client's growing analytical testing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical laboratory experience while working towards a recognised qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.

Personal Qualities

• - Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule
• - Writing and numeracy skills
• - Familiarity with computers / keyboards / typing skills
• - Word, Excel, Access - statistics, graphs, data analysis
• - General awareness of importance of safety, and in particular safety issues of working in a laboratory.

What You'll Be Doing (Bentley)

Working within a professional laboratory environment, you will:

• - Prepare samples for chemical analysis
• - Assist with laboratory testing procedures
• - Operate analytical equipment under supervision
• - Record and interpret test data
• - Maintain laboratory documentation and records
• - Follow quality assurance procedures
• - Assist with sample receipt and tracking
• - Support equipment calibration and maintenance
• - Learn laboratory best practices and testing standards
• - Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment
• - Follow strict health, safety, and environmental procedures

As your skills develop, you'll gain exposure to specialist testing techniques used across environmental and industrial sectors.

Entry Requirements
