Role Overview

Laboratory Analyst (Grade 1) - Organics Department, ALS Wakefield.

Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00, with flexi time available once trained)Salary: £25,878Location: Ossett, WakefieldContract: 12 month fixed term, full time

Responsibilities

• Analyse samples using GC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques.
• Record accurate results in line with quality standards and laboratory procedures.
• Ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation and internal quality systems.
• Support colleagues to meet daily performance targets.
• Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis (after screening).
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment.

Qualifications

• A passion for science and a strong willingness to learn.
• 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Science, Maths and English.
• At least one A Level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic IT competency.
• A proactive, client focused attitude.
