Role OverviewLaboratory Analyst (Grade 1) - Organics Department, ALS Wakefield.
Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00, with flexi time available once trained)Salary: £25,878Location: Ossett, WakefieldContract: 12 month fixed term, full time
Responsibilities- Analyse samples using GC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques.
- Record accurate results in line with quality standards and laboratory procedures.
- Ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation and internal quality systems.
- Support colleagues to meet daily performance targets.
- Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis (after screening).
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment.
- A passion for science and a strong willingness to learn.
- 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Science, Maths and English.
- At least one A Level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic IT competency.
- A proactive, client focused attitude.
- Annual leave: 25 days (rising to 30) + 8 public holidays (pro rata for part time).
