L3 Teaching Assistant - SEMH - Full-time, temporary until July 2026 with a view to going permanent from September 2026

Strong relationships between staff and pupils promote trust, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. Duties as a Teaching Assistant:

• Support pupils with SEMH needs in small groups of no more than six.
• Assist with behaviour regulation strategies and emotional support.
• Help pupils engage positively in learning and develop confidence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver tailored support.
• Provide one to one or group interventions as directed by teaching staff.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence and resilience.
• Maintain clear communication with the wider team regarding pupil progress.

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

• A Level 3 qualification
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs.
• Previous experience working with pupils on an EHCP
• Calm, patient and consistent when helping pupils manage emotions.
• Able to build positive relationships with learners and encourage engagement.
• Confident working with small nurture groups.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Committed to helping pupils make academic and personal progress.
• Reliable, proactive and positive in a specialist environment.
