Reports to: Head Chef / Catering Manager
Job Type: Variable hours
Pay: Wage per hour dependent on age, qualifications and experience.

Job Overview

A Kitchen Porter assists in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
They support chefs and kitchen staff by handling basic tasks, ensuring hygiene
standards are met, and helping with food preparation when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas clean and sanitized
• Assisting with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling vegetables, chopping
• Taking out rubbish and managing waste disposal
• Unloading deliveries and storing ingredients properly
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP)
• Supporting chefs and other kitchen staff as required

Requirements & Skills

• No formal qualifications required (training provided)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good physical stamina (standing for long periods, lifting items)
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Basic knife skills or food prep experience
