Job Description
The Early Childhood Service (SDPE) is responsible for implementing the early childhood policy of the City of Geneva, managing municipal childcare structures and supporting subsidized institutions. As part of the opening of the new early childhood care structure Guy-Olivier Segond at the start of the school year, we are looking for a Kitchen Assistant at 70%. Your mission and responsibilities:- Prepare meals for children.- Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and order in the kitchen during meal preparation.- Wash children's dishes, inox containers, and maintain thermo-containers.- Keep the kitchen's self-control and monitor meals and refrigerators updated.- Handle, check, and distribute dietary specifications sent by the production kitchen.- Work closely with the management and the head chef.- Manage laundry for the nursery using the washing machine and dryer.- Maintain clean and pleasant dining areas for the well-being of the children.- Maintain the machine area (washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher) for the rest of the team.- Monitor stock and maintenance reserves.- Have confirmed experience in a kitchen.- Experience in the field of early childhood, within a meal production kitchen or a nursery will be valued.- Work autonomously, efficiently, and organized.- Collaborate and integrate easily within a team.- Respect hygiene rules and adopt appropriate attire for the role.- Take vacations during the nursery closures (school holidays).Conditions and application procedure:Application deadline: Start date: Classification of the position: Class B of the salary scale.The application file must contain the following elements:- Cover letter or, if unavailable, a completed Job Application form (to be downloaded from our website)- Copies of diplomas and work certificates - Recent passport-sized photo.According to the City of Geneva, the recruitment process is decentralized.
