Akari Care seeks a Kitchen / Catering Assistant who is passionate about caring for the elderly and wants to contribute to a long-term career in our award-winning homes. The role involves working with the Cook and the wider catering team to ensure the smooth, efficient running of all kitchen processes, including creating menus, plating up, and arranging trollies. You will support residents with a personalised service, mindful of individual religious and cultural backgrounds when considering meal choices.
Main dutiesIn collaboration with the Cook and catering team, you will:
- Ensure the smooth, efficient running of kitchen processes
- Create menus and plate meals
- Arrange trollies and assist with mealtimes to provide high-quality support and care
- Be mindful of residents' religious and cultural backgrounds and adapt meals accordingly
- Act as a critical link between the kitchen and serving areas to support residents and ensure mealtimes are enjoyable
- Demonstrate personal excellence, community spirit, and a caring, compassionate nature to support vulnerable adults

What we require from you- Experience of working within a similar environment
- Kitchen and food preparation experience
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
