Job Description

Are you passionate about food, nutrition, and making a real difference to children's early years? Little Angels Childcare Group is looking for a reliable and caring Kitchen Assistant / Chef to support our nursery by preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals throughout the day.

This is a rewarding role for someone who takes pride in high standards, enjoys working independently, and understands the importance of safe, inclusive, and nourishing food for young children.

The Role

As our Kitchen Assistant / Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for babies and young children
  • Managing food preparation safely, including allergens and dietary requirements
  • Managing stock effectively and support with ordering
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Working flexibly to meet the daily needs of a busy nursery environment
  • Communicating clearly with the nursery team to support children and families
? What We're Looking For

You will be:

  • Passionate about food, nutrition, and quality
  • Caring, reliable, and committed to children's wellbeing
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing daily needs
  • Confident in managing your own time and workload
  • An effective communicator who listens and responds to the needs of families and colleagues

Ideally, you will also have:

  • A Food Hygiene qualification (minimum Level 2)
  • Experience working in a commercial or professional kitchen

Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid are desirable; however, full training can be provided.
