Kitchen Assistant

Job responsibilities

Support the catering function by preparing food, maintaining a clean environment and ensuring safe production of beverages and meals for residents.

• Understand principles of safe food handling to uphold hygiene standards.
• Contribute to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and act on work instructions promptly.
• Advise on the supply and quality of items, ensuring timely ordering of replacement goods.
• Act respectfully toward residents and visitors, respecting their dignity and individuality.

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge in Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
• Efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative, positive and flexible attitude to team working.
• Show caring and understanding attitude toward residents.

Requirements

• DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
