Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Our kitchen team at The Applewood is a huge part of care home life and the Kitchen Assistant helps the Cook to plan and prepare a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centred around our residents' preferences, requests and dietary requirements. As well as helping to ensure the dining experience exceeds our residents' expectations at every mealtime, the Kitchen Assistant will also help keep our state of the art kitchen facilities up to our high standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare a variety of meals for residents, ensuring they are appealing, nutritious, and meet residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
• Assist the Cook with meal preparation and kitchen operations to deliver high quality dining experiences at every mealtime.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operation of state of the art kitchen facilities to meet high standards.
• Assist with the care of residents' dietary needs and preferences.

Safeguarding

All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role, undertake additional training in associated areas, and be able to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and to report concerns.
