Production Assistant

Pay rates £11.90 £13.25 per hour depending on your age, plus benefits.

Working hours 24 hours per week, 6:00 am 5:00 pm, Monday Sunday, with flexibility.

Location EUROSPAR/Texaco, Garvagh, 1 Main Street, Garvagh, Co. Londonderry, BT51 5AA.

Role Overview

Assist with movement, storage and rotation of goods in a fast paced kitchen environment, pack fresh products, maintain accurate labeling, and support the Head Chef.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods in ensuring legislative requirements, quality specifications and shelf life are met.
• Ensure effective stock rotation practices.
• Assist Chef and Head Chef with ingredient preparation as needed.
• Assist with stock control procedures and ordering.
• Keep machines and production areas clean and tidy.
• Ensure packaging and other items are stored correctly.
• Accurately record any damages or wastage.
• Prepare, clean, adjust and maintain printing equipment.
• Ensure accurate information is printed on labels and conforms to food labeling regulations.
• Print sufficient labels for the day's production.
• Perform any other duties as required for the role.

Skills for Success

• Previous experience working in a catering or hospitality kitchen.
• Flair and enthusiasm for cooking with fresh quality ingredients.
• Ability to deliver at pace while maintaining high quality of food.

Desirable

• Experience in a Fresh Food Production Kitchen.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Experience working to budgets and/or targets.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office.
