About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the catering function by preparing food, ensuring a clean environment, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

• Understand the principles of safe food handling and maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
• Work as part of a team, respond positively to colleagues, and act on all work instructions promptly.
• Advise on the supply and quality of items used, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
• Treat residents and visitors with respect, dignity and individuality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
• Have knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative, and display a positive and flexible attitude towards team working.
• Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

A DBS disclosure check will be carried out, with the cost covered by Avery. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is required.
