Key Stage 4 Teaching Assistant - Newton Abbot

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and succeed in education? Do you want to be part of a caring, supportive secondary school community where every student is valued? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in Key Stage 4 in a mainstream secondary college. Working alongside teachers and fellow support staff colleagues, you will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, display positive learning behaviours and engage positively with school life.
Key Information- Pay: £14.25 - £16.50 p/h
- Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (30 minute lunch break)
- Start Date: As soon as possible (September 2026)
- Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Promoting and encouraging positive learning behaviours
- Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
- Helping to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
- This secondary college - near Newton Abbot - supports students aged 11-16 who have chosen courses linked to science mechanics and engineering.
- Some pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to provide additional funding for support to meet their needs.

Previous experience is not essential. This role would suit graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants, or anyone with a genuine interest in working with young people.
