Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant

Academics in Canterbury are seeking reliable and nurturing KS2 Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of lovely schools in areas including Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Whitstable/Herne Bay, Folkestone/Hythe, and surrounding villages. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible day-to-day work, we have opportunities to suit you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in Years 3 to 6 as they develop key skills and prepare for the transition to secondary education.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 2
Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils who need additional help
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and confidence
Assist with classroom preparation, behaviour management, and administrative tasks
Help monitor pupil progress and feedback to teaching staff
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
Uphold the school's values and contribute to the wider school community

What We Are Looking For:

Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting
A passion for education and a supportive, patient approach
Good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and classroom expectations
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
A proactive, flexible attitude to working across different schools and age groups
Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to pupil welfare
Right to work in the UK
