Junior Surveyor

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior Surveyor to support survey field work at the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power station. The role involves assisting the Surveyor with site measurements, operating survey instruments, processing raw data, and preparing results for the Survey Team Manager. HPC is a major national project delivering clean energy and creating thousands of jobs across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Take instruction from the Surveyor to support a range of classic survey operations.
• Operate survey instruments on site, including Leica total stations, digital levels, scanners, and GPS (rover and static) to collect accurate data.
• Perform basic quality checks to ensure that survey work is carried out in accordance with schedule and quality standards.
• Write surveillance reports and technical documents to be approved by the Survey Team Manager.
• Understand and apply relevant specifications and documents to daily activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a project team environment and promote teamwork through effective communication.
• Flexibility in approach, prioritisation of tasks, resilience and focus under pressure.
• Professional skills such as accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy and results orientation.
• Basic survey techniques knowledge - use of instruments such as total stations, digital levels, scanners, and GPS.
• Experience in survey data basic processing and quality checking.
• Basic knowledge of survey data processing.
