Junior Solicitor

Location: Manchester/London

PHSO is an independent national ombudsman service. We make final decisions on complaints that have not been resolved by the NHS in England, UK government departments, and some other public organisations. We do this fairly and without taking sides. Our service is free.

The Junior Solicitor will be responsible for providing legal advice on PHSO casework to the Ombudsman, senior members of the team, and caseworkers across the business.

Their role will include assisting with judicial review matters such as drafting pre-action responses, acknowledgement of service, instructing counsel, and advising on corporate issues affecting PHSO, including commercial matters and employment.

The Junior Solicitor will proactively and independently manage an appropriate caseload of public law advisory requests related to PHSO casework.

They will work as part of the Corporate Services Department, providing strategic legal advice aligned with PHSO's objectives.
