Express Recruitment is representing a rapidly growing Engineering Systems Specialist based in Nottinghamshire, seeking to hire a Junior Project Controls Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Automation and Controls projects, with a strong understanding of PLC and control system development, electrical design, and demonstrable experience with FDS and FAT. A full clean UK driving license is required.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Manage multiple engineering projects adhering to client and company standards.
2. Assist with sign-off agreements for Function Design Specifications (FDS).
3. Plan resource allocation for projects.
4. Coordinate with suppliers and procurement to ensure timely availability of project materials.
5. Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to verify system specifications.
6. Collaborate with electrical and control system engineers on technical drawings and sign-offs.
7. Provide weekly project updates to management.
8. Develop control layouts and technical documents as per client needs.

Skills and Experience

1. Experience in Controls & Automation sector.
2. Knowledge of electrical design, PLC programming, SCADA/HMI design.
3. Experience in production planning, resource management, and supply chain is desirable.
4. Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
5. Prince2 certification is a plus but not required.
6. Valid UK driving license.
