About The ClientOur client, BAE Systems - Digital Intelligence, are looking to grow their Platform Engineering capability following continuous growth and success in the UK National Security sector at their London Offices.

About The RoleIt all starts with our introductory training courses, covering everything you need to know to get started in the world of software and platform engineering. Our in depth training is full time and is delivered on a hybrid learning basis (classroom & remote). You'll learn a lot quite quickly - it will be fast paced, but enjoyable and highly engaging!
After the training period you'll have the opportunity to gain industry experience by joining BAE and working on their projects. For this specific role you will:
- Be a Platform Engineer who designs, builds and maintains scalable, resilient, secure, mission critical AWS platforms in support of software systems
- Be part of Agile Product teams who build mission critical systems for customers
- Join at a key point in their Cloud adoption journey and be able to help customers fully exploit the benefits of Cloud
- Be hands on using a range of AWS services to underpin the software Products built for BAE's customers
- Continue your learning journey with them through working with more experienced engineers as well as through structured training
- Have a passion for working in Platform Engineering & Software development and an interest in exploring Agile methodologies and ways of working
- Be able to display the following competencies and behaviours: problem solving, attention to detail, adaptability and the desire to 'fix' things
- Be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to build trust and a rapport
- Motivated by technical challenges and enjoy building with technology in your personal life
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn - you're up for the challenge and ready to work hard for it
- You have a degree, but it doesn't have to be in CompSci or a STEM degree
- You don't have a degree, but you have some recent work experience or you've been doing some upskilling in technology recently
- Working with interesting customers, building systems directly linked to keeping the UK safe

Please note as a Platform Engineer you will be required to work on client sites and also come into your base office on a regular basis. Expense costs will be covered to sites if they are further away than your base office. If you have concerns about this; please speak to Corecom Tech Academy for more clarity. The expectation for this role is 3 days a week minimum requirement in your base office with 4-5 days likely as your individual project requires.
Security ClearanceOnly those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK will be considered for a position within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. Due to the nature of our work, successful candidates for this role will be required to go through Government SC clearance prior to starting with us and DV Clearance shortly before or after joining.

- In Person Interview - It's your time to shine! Successful candidates will be invited to our in person assessment centre with the client.

For this role, the start date will be in March with in person assessments to be held late Jan/early Feb - we will confirm on these dates shortly.
