Job Description

The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role, open to those within commutable distance of Bridgwater, or willing to relocate with support from a small relocation allowance.

As a Junior Piping Configuration Engineer, you'll support the accurate management of piping design from early planning through to installation. You'll be guided by senior colleagues while gaining valuable experience in a high-profile engineering environment.

  • Support reviews of design maturity and readiness for construction activities
  • Work with senior engineers to maintain accurate piping configuration records
  • Track design changes and open points to ensure timely resolution
  • Assist in preparing and updating technical documentation for handovers
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to share accurate data
  • Help administer digital tools used to manage configuration and design data
  • Provide input into regular engineering meetings and progress reviews
My profile

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Basic knowledge of piping systems, design, or configuration processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Placement or early experience in engineering or industrial projects
  • Familiarity with technical drawings or design documentation
  • Understanding of design change management processes
  • Interest in progressing within large, complex engineering projects
