Junior Perception Engineer

We are hiring a passionate and driven roboticist (perception engineer) to join our growing team of talented engineers and researchers. The successful candidate will contribute towards the development of novel perception products for advanced motion control solutions that help accelerate the installation of offshore wind farms.

What you will be doing:

• Maintain and improve upon the existing perception systems at X-Lab
• Development, testing, and commissioning of new cutting edge sensing solutions
• Evaluation and integration of the latest state-of-the-art sensors on the market
• Calibration of sensors to enable high accuracy pose estimation capability
• Automation and improvement of the existing calibration procedures
• Code reviews, refactoring, and optimization
• Develop tools and pipelines to process the vast amounts of data collected by our sensors on the field for anomaly detection

Qualifications and minimum requirements:

• MSc in Robotics or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Experience developing 3D object detection and pose estimation algorithms
• Strong mathematical foundation (e.g. linear algebra, calculus, probability, and geometry)
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Willingness to travel abroad or offshore for testing and commissioning

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience working with LiDARs, ToF/Stereo cameras, GNSS/INS and radars
• Good understanding of sensor fusion techniques
• Experience with intrinsic and extrinsic calibration of multi-modal perception systems
• Proficiency in Matlab, Julia, and Rust
• Good knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, system modelling, and control
• Experience developing real-time multi-threaded applications
