Job Description

Working alongside the Director of Junior Hockey, the Junior Girls Development Lead will plan and deliver the weekly training sessions for the Junior Girls squads as well as leading an age group squad for their Sunday fixtures. Availability for midweek training and Sunday fixtures is essential.

Old Georgians HC are looking to recruit an inspiring and skilled leader for this role. Ian Sloan, double Team GB Olympian, joined this season as Director of Junior Hockey whilst David Ames, triple Team GB Olympian, joined as the Junior Boys Development Lead. Within this role you will have the opportunity to learn and develop, whilst leading a group of coaches and coaching talented young players.

Role Requirements:

  • Available to coach three evenings a week (we would be open for this to be two evenings a week, with an adjusted salary) during the hockey season, and available to coach on Sundays
  • Available to coach two evenings a week during the summer term hockey programme
  • Available to coach on the majority of NextGen Hockey Camps during school holidays (additional payment for doing so)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high quality training sessions for each of the girls age group squads, based upon the Junior Section's coaching philosophy and development plan
  • Track each player's development throughout the year, advising on their optimal stretch and support and advising age group coaches on team selection and squad nominations
  • Set a high standard of planning and preparation, sending through a session plan in advance of each session to enable co-coaching with the age group coaches
  • Provide regular feedback to players and coaches within the Junior Girls section, enabling their development throughout the season

A successful applicant would start the role at the beginning of September 2025.
