The role's scope is to assist the Compliance department in ensuring the business complies with legislation, industry standards, and approved codes of practice across all areas. You will support ongoing certification efforts such as ISO, NACOSS Gold, and other safety-related certifications.

Please note that occasional travel within the UK and abroad may be required.

Responsibilities of the Junior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance Officer include:

• Managing audit administration and ensuring timely close-outs.
• Collaborating with the team to achieve compliance with CHAS, Safe Contractor, CCS, and other safety accreditations.
• Maintaining up-to-date accreditation records, organizing audits, following up on closures, and gathering necessary documentation.
• Assisting with ISO audits and preparation, preferably with experience in ISO9001/14001/27001.
• Using construction industry experience to maintain site presence and ensure Onnec RAMS are current and fulfilled.
• Supporting PPQ requirements and organizing related database management.
• Participating in incident investigations and providing clear root cause analyses.
• Conducting quality assurance and compliance checks by reviewing documentation and identifying issues.
• Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive actions.

Qualifications and Skills we seek:

• Relevant experience in EHS Compliance.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality practices, with the ability to communicate legislative requirements effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across departments.
• Good communication skills, including delivering safety and compliance presentations to internal and external audiences.
• Experience working within the construction industry.
• A relevant degree in environmental science, civil engineering, construction, or related disciplines is desirable.
• Working towards or holding graduate-level IOSH membership is preferred.
