# Junior Development Squad CoachOrganisation Ealing Swimming ClubContract Type PermanentQualifications Coaching Swimming: Swimming Coach Certificate or Level 2 AwardWorking Hours Part timeLocation NortholtSalary Dependent on experienceClosing Date 19th July :59Job Reference ESC Junior Development Squad CoachApplyEaling Swimming Club (ESC) in West London is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Development Squad Coach to help develop young swimmers, build strong technical foundations, and support progression through the club's pathway at one of the UK's leading competitive swimming clubs.ESC delivers a comprehensive aquatics programme supporting swimmers at every stage of their journey, from learn-to-swim and development squads through to regional, national and international competition. Alongside competitive swimming, the club also offers masters swimming, disability swimming and water polo programmes.Working closely with the Head Coach and wider coaching team, the successful candidate will help create a positive, engaging and athlete-centred environment that encourages swimmers to achieve their full potential. Reports to: Head Coach Key Responsibilities Coaching and Athlete Development: Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions for the Junior Development Squad. Support the technical, physical and personal development of swimmers within the programme. Create and maintain training plans aligned to the club's athlete development framework. Monitor swimmer progress and maintain accurate attendance and performance records. Promote a positive, inclusive and motivating training environment. Support swimmer progression into higher-level squad programmes. Competition and Events: Assist with the implementation of competition plans. Support squad selection processes where appropriate. Attend designated competitions, galas and training camps within the UK and internationally. Prepare competition feedback and swimmer reviews following key events. Support swimmers and families throughout the competition season. Team Contribution: Work collaboratively as part of the squad coaching team. Attend coaching meetings and relevant club events. Share best practice and contribute to programme development. Undertake continuing professional development relevant to the role. Comply with all club, Swim England and safeguarding requirements. Person Specification Essential: Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award (or equivalent). Minimum two years' experience coaching competitive swimmers. Strong understanding of swimming technique and athlete development. Knowledge of Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Build positive and professional relationships with swimmers, parents, and coaches Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Strong organisational and time management skills. Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team. Current safeguarding certification and commitment to best practice in athlete welfare. Knowledge of Swim England structures and governance. Desirable: Experience coaching development or age-group swimmers. Team Manager qualification. Strength and Conditioning qualification. Experience supporting swimmers at regional or national competitions. Understanding of swimmer pathway and talent development programmes. Working Pattern The successful candidate will be expected to attend the following sessions: Monday 05:15-07:00 - Acton Leisure Centre Tuesday 19:00-20:30 - Northolt Leisure Centre Thursday 05:15-07:00 - Acton Leisure Centre Friday 05:15-07:00 - Acton Leisure Centre Saturday 06:15-08:00 - Acton Leisure Centre Sunday 18:00-19:30 - Dormers WellsAttendance at competitions, training camps and other programme activities will also be required.
