Job Description

Energis is exclusively recruiting for an experienced Junior Design Engineer to join our client based in Co Antrim. This role has arisen due to continued growth.

The Junior Design Engineer will support the design and development of products, focussing on producing accurate 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks, with additional involvement in project coordination, technical documentation, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Assist in developing design solutions aligned with project and industry standards.
  • Prepare BOMs, technical documentation, and support basic design calculations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and practical installation of designs.
  • Respond to design queries and contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate project files following internal processes and quality procedures.

Criteria:

  • HND, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or another relevant discipline.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (part modelling, assemblies, and detailed drawing creation).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong drafting accuracy.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and work to deadlines.

Salary is in the region of £28-30k depending on experience.
