About the Role

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in butchery. Workingalongside our experienced team at Swandean Fresh Meats, you'll develop your skillsacross a range of species and cuts, learning the trade in a busy, professionalenvironment with a strong emphasis on quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist experienced butchers with cutting, preparation and portioning of meat
• Learn to work across multiple species including beef, pork, lamb and poultry
• Assist with mince, burger and sausage preparation as required
• Develop safe knife skills and learn to operate specialist equipment under supervision
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping throughout the working day
• Follow food safety processes including temperature checks, labelling and stock rotation
• Support the wider team to meet daily production requirements

The Ideal Candidate

• Some butchery or food production experience is desirable, but not essential - attitude and work ethic matter most
• A genuine interest in learning the butchery trade and developing your skills
• Reliable, punctual and happy to work early morning starts
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to take direction
• Good attention to detail and pride in your work
• Physically fit for a hands-on role (standing for long periods, lifting, repetitive tasks)
• Able to communicate effectively in English for day-to-day teamwork and safety
