Practice Area / Department: Real Estate group within Trowers & Hamlins, focusing on investment, development, construction, planning, environmental and dispute resolution.

The Real Estate Team: Real Estate is a key focus of the firm, with around 60% of lawyers practising full time in the sector across a wide range of disciplines. The Exeter team advises on investment and development across commercial and residential sectors, including large mixed use schemes and regeneration projects.

What you will be doing

As a NQ Solicitor you will work in the Residential Investment and Development Practice within the Real Estate group.

  • Due diligence on medium sized and large investment or development sites.
  • Assistance with acquisition and sale documents for mixed use and residential led schemes.
  • Collaboration with Corporate, Banking & Finance, Litigation, Projects & Construction, Planning & Environmental teams.
Key duties
  • Involvement in all property aspects of development and regeneration schemes.
  • Mix of property work for developers, investors, social landlords, government bodies, local authorities and private sector bodies, including acquisitions of development sites, asset management, joint venture projects and large scale accommodation projects.
  • Portfolio sales and acquisitions.
  • Assistance on Real Estate finance work, including preparing CLLS certificates of title and managing conditions precedent.
  • Compliance with core competencies appropriate to the fee earner level of qualification.
  • Building, maintaining and initiating effective client relationships.
  • Active participation in, and where appropriate, leading, marketing initiatives.
  • Running own files.
  • Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures.
  • Participating in firm wide and departmental training sessions.
What you will need
  • Qualified solicitor with training seat completed in Real Estate.
  • Excellent technical skills and innovative application.
  • Proven ability to take responsibility, manage and progress matters independently where appropriate.
  • Strong client focus and commitment to service delivery.
  • Drive and enthusiasm.
  • Flexibility and a can do attitude.
  • Credibility.
  • Solid academic record.
