Job Title: Java/API Developer

Location: Dublin (Hybrid - up to 2 days per week onsite)

Experience Required: Minimum 6-7 years development experience

Work Type: Contract/Onsite role (hybrid working model)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Java/API Developer to join a delivery-focused team working on enterprise systems. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and supporting high-quality Java and RESTful API solutions while collaborating closely with project stakeholders, testers, and junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce effort estimates for requirements where required

Design, develop, and enhance Java and API-based solutions in line with agreed standards

Create functional design specifications and user stories

Adhere to code quality, data, and unit testing standards

Identify and implement integration and automation tests where necessary

Participate in peer code reviews

Supervise and coach junior developers and ensure knowledge transfer

Provide system test support, including SIR resolution

Assist with test and live releases

Support project tracking, planning, and risk management activities

Collaborate closely with testers to ensure clarity on functionality and timelines

Perform root cause analysis on defects and incidents

Propose and implement fixes for live issues

Escalate technical risks or blockers to team leads in a timely manner

Key Skills & Requirements:

Strong Java development experience

Expert-level experience with Spring RESTful Web Services

Solid experience designing and supporting REST APIs

Experience working in hybrid or onsite delivery environments

Strong communication and collaboration skills
