Overview

Qualcomm IT is seeking an experienced full stack lead with experience in the IP space. The role involves architecting, designing, developing and supporting custom IP analysis applications for one of the world's largest patent portfolios. The successful candidate will build custom applications using the latest web technologies to deliver data faster and more efficiently, meeting the dynamic needs of our legal partners.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and support intuitive tools which help attorneys and engineers analyze, manage, and identify the value of inventions and manage patent data.
  • Build analytics tools for IP engineers to analyze the patent portfolio using various parameters (e.g., technology, financial standing).
  • Build custom applications using the latest web technologies (Angular / React, Java8+, Python, relational & NoSQL databases, Spring, Hibernate, Apache Solr, messaging systems, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ES6, and TypeScript) to deliver data efficiently as legal partner strategies change.
  • Develop and support integration tools to integrate internal invention and patent management systems with global patent offices.
  • Automate the legal team's internal processes, systems and tools.
  • Automate business workflows and processes.
  • Build and deploy all applications through automatic jobs in the cloud (AWS, Jenkins) to support 100% uptime.
  • Mentor and guide the team on development standards, good design practices, and ensure compliance through code reviews and spot checks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and make constructive suggestions for change, managing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Effectively communicate with business partners, analysts, project managers, and team members on functional and technical aspects.
  • Apply a BDD or TDD approach to development.
  • Utilize AWS, cloud, and micro services expertise.
  • Engage in requirement analysis, design, code reviews, deployments, and product development and unit testing frameworks.
  • Apply strong knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Work in an agile/Scrum environment, applying agile methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in software development with highly reputed organizations.
  • Proficiency in Java8 or higher, Python, Groovy, Spring, and Hibernate.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Expertise in full-stack development and proven experience building user interfaces using technologies such as Angular / ReactJS.
  • Proven experience building cloud native software, preferably with AWS.
  • Proven experience designing and developing data models using RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, etc.) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
  • Experience building solutions using Apache Solr or ElasticSearch.
