Multiple Java Developers, ideally with current SC Security Clearance and strong Java software development skills in Java 11 plus and MongoDB is needed to work with our central government client on one of the UK's most high-impact digital services.

Java Developers- SC Security Clearance- Central Government- Essential Skills

• Strong hands on Java Software development skills to Java 11 or higher.
• Excellent software engineering abilities across Java microservices, Hexagonal architecture, MongoDB, Kafka)
• Modern cloud infrastructure & DevOps (AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Proven success leading engineering teams, including mentoring and coaching.
• Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, including secure design and assurance.
• Experience delivering in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
• Current SC Security Clearance or the ability to undergo clearance.
• Passionate about building high-quality, secure and maintainable systems.

Java Developers- SC Security Clearance- Central Government- Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and leadership for a critical agile delivery team.
• Lead either citizen/agent-facing digital product teams or shared platform capability teams.
• Be hands-on - designing and developing modern, scalable systems or infrastructure.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and cloud-native development.
• Mentor engineers and build a strong culture of continuous improvement.
• Align delivery with strategic goals and collaborate across teams and stakeholders.

The role is inside IR35 circa £550-£650.00 per day DOE- Long term contract until March 2026
Hyrid workign with ad hoc days on site at either of the following Locations, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, or London.
