Java Developer

Our international client is looking for a Java Developer with experience working with SAP applications such as BTP, SAP HANA and SAPUI5 to join their team for a freelance B2B contract that is due to run until the end of 2026, with a good chance of extension beyond that. This position is hybrid, with 3 days a week on-site in the Banat region of Romania.

Skills and responsibilities

• 8+ years of experience developing production-grade applications in Java (11+), with strong expertise in integration design patterns, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating them with Front End components; understanding of OData specification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, hands-on experience in data modelling and efficient data manipulation; SAP HANA experience is a plus.
• Experience operating and maintaining highly available cloud applications, with solid understanding of at least one cloud platform (GCP, Azure, AWS, or SAP BTP).
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent, along with observability tools such as Micrometer, Dynatrace, and Prometheus.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and at least one major Front End framework (React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar)
• Experience with SAPUI5 and SAP BTP services (Cloud Foundry, Kyma runtimes) is highly desirable.
