Java Developer

Java Developer with AI experience to build, integrate, and scale intelligent applications. The ideal candidate has strong Java backend skills and hands on experience working with AI assisted development tools such as Claude or Cursor, as well as integrating AI/LLM capabilities into real world systems.

You will collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, AI enabled solutions that are scalable, secure, and production ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java based backend services and APIs

• Build and integrate AI powered features using LLMs and related services

• Leverage AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate development and improve code quality

• Integrate AI services via REST APIs, SDKs, or custom pipelines

• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability

• Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision making

• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Required Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+), with solid understanding of OOP and design patterns

• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot and RESTful API development

• Hands on experience integrating AI/LLM solutions into applications

• Practical experience using Claude, Cursor, or similar AI assisted development tools

• Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI assisted workflows

• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

This is an initial 3 month engagement working one day a week in the client's London office paying £500/day Outside IR35
