IT Project Manager

IT Project Manager Oracle Servers - 3 - 6 Month Contract - London - £550 per day Outside IR35

We're working with a respected organisation undergoing a major technology transformation and are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a critical programme of work. This contract role, based in London, offers a six-month engagement focused on delivering a suite of infrastructure and application upgrades. It's an ideal opportunity for a seasoned project consultant who thrives in technically complex environments and can confidently steer cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end delivery of a major IT implementation project, including deployment of new Oracle servers and migration of existing Oracle databases with version upgrades.
• Rollout of a new integrated business application and responsibility for planning, execution, testing, and post-deployment activities to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with stakeholder expectations.
• Define project scope, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with internal teams and vendor partners.
• Coordinate daily activity across infrastructure, application, and testing workstreams; manage risks, resolve issues, and maintain delivery momentum.
• Engage directly with technical teams and business users; manage detailed project plans, ensure effective configuration and integration, and coordinate testing and remediation with operational teams.
• Develop and deliver project documentation, governance reporting, and knowledge transfer materials as part of the project scope.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, briefing senior leadership and business sponsors on progress, challenges, and dependencies; conduct planning sessions, stand-ups, and reviews to drive accountability and visibility.

Qualifications

• Strong track record of managing infrastructure or enterprise application projects within mid-to-large scale environments.
• Experience implementing server environments, database migrations, and working across internal and vendor-delivered workstreams.
• Experience with governance, compliance, and risk management within technical projects.
• PM qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2 (ideally) with hands-on experience using Microsoft Project.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure fundamentals, ITIL service management, and change control processes.

Contract details

This is a high-visibility contract based in London lasting six months, with a daily rate of £550 Outside IR35.
