IT Infrastructure Operations Manager

IntaPeople are proud and excited to be appointed to recruit an IT Infrastructure Operation Manager for Welsh-based not-for-profit sector client on an exclusive venture. This is a very exciting opportunity to join their fast-growing IT team in this newly created position.

The IT Infrastructure Ops Manager will have the opportunity to shape the role around their strengths whilst supporting the cross-platform digital estate. Connecting through modern practices you will have access to the right suite of tools to communicate effectively with their key users.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience as a people manager/leader
• Experience of supporting critical environments and Enterprises using:

1. Windows Servers (Servers 2022, 2019 and 2016) running on Hypervisors VMWare/vSphere.

2. Azure Infrastructure Services

3. Backup and Replication services

4. On premise Active Directory, Directory Services and Entra ID

5. Office 365 enterprise administration including systems maintenance with PowerShell scripting

• Experience of configuring Office 365 service suite at an Enterprise level to ensure email flows, user security, audit compliance and license optimisation and compliance.
• Experience of designing and implementing best practices for IT infrastructure management processes and procedures including security by design, and system resilience and availability.
• Experience of designing IT infrastructure solutions

Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Be responsible for a whole user base of circa 5000 devices, 3,500 users throughout 300+ connected locations in Wales.
• Directly reporting into the Head of Information Technology whilst being responsible for 2 direct reports (with future heads to be added)
• Manage Azure IaaS platforms
• Support critical network infrastructure throughout the digital footprint
• Deliver and support on-premises infrastructure by managing VMware/vSphere platforms, physical hardware, databases, and backups, through proactive maintenance and disaster recovery planning, to ensure a stable, resilient, and efficient virtual environment.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services by monitoring performance, resolving issues, and maintaining operational procedures across the organization.

You will lead the infrastructure operations team by allocating resources, assigning technical tasks, and ensuring service continuity, to maintain the availability and performance of critical IT systems. Working alongside the senior leadership team, you will also be responsible for contributing to strategic planning and developing infrastructure roadmaps, to align IT services with evolving business needs and long-term goals.
