IT Business Analyst - Insurance Broking/MGA

Finstech Consulting are looking for IT Business Analyst candidates to work with our Insurance Broking client, within the Technology part of the business. Our client is creating a new product and is looking for an experienced Business Analyst with MGA experience to join the existing project team and support the development of the product, and the rollout.
The successful candidate will work as part of a fast-paced product team, working closely with internal business stakeholders across different geographies as well as 3rd party vendors. It is essential that the successful candidate has a background in commercial insurance broking, and MGA projects specifically.
The successful candidate will take the lead in gathering requirements from business stakeholders as well as collating feedback via forums from existing users. The successful candidate will translate these business requirements and feedback into tangible technology outcomes, defining & developing technical and non-technical requirements, whilst ensuring these requirements fit in with the strategy of the application. You will also be responsible for analysing data, process mapping/modelling and technical requirements eg API's etc. Working alongside the project team, excellent written communication and document preparation skills are also vital for this role.
The role will be home based, although some UK and International travel may be required at times. The role is paying up to £550 a day, outside of IR35, on a SOW basis for which the specific deliverables are expected to take around 6 months to complete. We require candidates who are available immediately or within 3 weeks. All necessary hardware will be provided by the client as access to their networks is required to successfully support the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult and work with stakeholders from across the business to understand business and technical requirements, define and mitigate gaps and drive towards technology solutions
- Lead requirements gathering for the assigned workstream, understanding client and customer goals, and assure that technology solution designs can deliver effectively
- Writing and owning requirements documentation from end to end including revisions, feedback, & finalisation, leveraging standard tools, templates & methodologies
- Creation of options papers, process & workflow documentation to aid understanding of the technical solution
- Reviewing datasets, analysing and mapping them to other platform integration points, including 3rd party APIs.
- Engage with key stakeholders to influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope and strategy requirements.
- Provide input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions.
- Conduct gap analysis of as-is and to-be requirements to understand the operational & technical impacts
- Understand assumptions, dependencies, risks & issues and work closely with the Programme or Project Manager to ensure that project management & reporting is always in good health.
- Conduct workshops and review sessions with the business and development/test team to develop, review, finalise and communicate requirements to all impacted stakeholders
- Presenting and demoing to the team and business stakeholders as required
Key Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience in a similar role within insurance broking - ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working on MGA projects - ESSENTIAL
- BCS/ISEB qualifications or Degree or Masters in relevant field
- Experience of planning and running requirements gathering workshops.
- Process mapping experience
- Experience of creating Agile artefact documentation
- Knowledge of the Business Analysis Lifecycle.
- Agile/Prince2 Qualification
