What You'll Do

As a Blockchain Architect, you will work closely with case team members to assess and coach our clients' technology teams, define Blockchain implementation strategies, architecture solutions and apply your technical know-how and understanding of business contexts. As you acquire experience, you will be responsible for owning the delivery for a specific project 'module' and help develop technical concepts for that 'module'.As part of our BCG Platinion consulting team, you would focus on Blockchain yet work on a variety of technology topics, applying your architectural consulting skills to strategic technology questions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and selecting Blockchain architectures that align with business goals, meet stakeholder needs, and perform effectively within defined constraints.

  • Defining integration architectures that connect applications, participant organizations, and member nodes within a Blockchain network.

  • Communicating complex architectural concepts through clear, compelling storytelling to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Reviewing vendor proposals and ongoing technical work to ensure quality, alignment, and feasibility.

  • Overseeing technology project management activities and maintaining rigorous quality assurance standards.

  • Optimizing application development processes within your projects to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Building and nurturing a strong community around Blockchain initiatives.

  • Advising internal teams on core Blockchain concepts, technologies, and frameworks.

  • Collaborating with fellow architects on Blockchain and related technical domains to drive cross-functional excellence.

  • Supporting Blockchain consulting teams in developing best practices, frameworks, and implementation guidelines.

  • Expanding and leveraging your network within the BCG technical community to deliver greater value for clients.



What You'll Bring

We're looking for exceptional talents around emerging technologies to join us. You would typically:

  • Have at least 3 years of experience in Blockchain, Crypto, DeFi, or the Metaverse.

  • Possess a strong understanding of Blockchain fundamentals, including smart contracts and consensus algorithms.

  • Be familiar with different Blockchain types, including public, private or permissioned, and public permissioned networks.

  • Have hands-on experience with Blockchain frameworks such as Hyperledger Fabric, R3 Corda, and Ethereum (Solidity).

  • Understand consensus mechanisms used across major Blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Byzantine Fault Tolerant algorithms such as PBFT in Hyperledger Fabric.

  • Be skilled in cryptographic principles and the use of certificates for identity management and transaction authentication.

  • Have experience in database architecture and design to build scalable storage solutions for distributed ledgers and related data.

  • Demonstrate security architecture expertise to ensure the protection of Blockchain systems and applications.

  • Be proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Go, Java, or Node.js.

  • Hold an outstanding academic record, ideally from a leading university.

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills (verbal and written), along with strong presence, leadership, and teamwork abilities.

  • Bring fresh technology perspectives from outside the consulting industry to enhance BCG's projects and client engagements.
