ISAR Training Coordinator (KSA Project) - Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service

Salary: Station Manager B plus 20% flexi duty allowance

Secondment end date: 22nd November 2026

The UK International Search and Rescue (UK ISAR) team is seeking a highly skilled Training Officer to help prepare international partners for global disaster response.

You will lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a two year specialist training programme supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Search and Rescue Team (SASART) as they work toward INSARAG External Reclassification in 2027.

In this role, you will:
  • Deliver and coordinate specialist training across rope rescue, shoring, lifting and moving, technical search, and K9 search.
  • Lead seven week long international training visits per year, providing coaching, mentoring, and operational guidance.
  • Develop and enhance SOPs, safety protocols, and operational standards aligned with INSARAG methodology.
  • Conduct assurance visits and competency assessments, identifying gaps and shaping targeted training interventions.
  • Support Exercise Control (ExCon) for major simulations, contributing to inject planning, evaluation structures, and observer management.
  • Produce professional reports and maintain accurate training and competency records.

This is an opportunity for someone with strong technical rescue expertise and training delivery experience.
